17 Jul 2024
Redelio Renewables LLC, a new green energy developer, has been formed with the ambitious goal of developing up to 2.4 GW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the United States. This initiative is set to bolster the renewable energy sector and support the transition to sustainable energy solutions.

Redelio Renewables is a joint venture between Redelfi S.p.A. and Elio Energy Group LLC. Redelfi, headquartered in Italy and listed on the Euronext Growth segment of the Italian Stock Exchange, is renowned for its BESS infrastructure projects in Italy and the U.S., with pipelines of 4.3 GW and 1.2 GW, respectively. Elio Group, a prominent utility-scale renewable project developer with a 7 GW pipeline, brings extensive experience in greenfield development, EPC, and project lifecycle management to the venture.

The entity aims to develop a robust pipeline for up to 2.4 GW of BESS projects across the U.S., with 920 MW already identified in Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, and Kansas. Redelfi will handle financing, project management, financial oversight, and development monitoring, while Elio Group will focus on technical and operational activities.

Davide Sommariva, Chairman of Redelfi S.p.A., expressed confidence in the partnership's ability to achieve its ambitious goals. Daven Mehta, CEO of Elio Group, highlighted the venture's alignment with their mission to deliver excellence in renewable energy projects. Pandelis Vassilakakis, President of Redelio Renewables, emphasized the partnership's commitment to advancing green energy solutions.
