
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and ABB Smart Power Division have explored new collaboration opportunities in smart energy solutions during a high-level meeting in Dubai. The discussion focused on smart grid automation, predictive maintenance, and energy management systems, aligning with Dubai’s sustainability and digital transformation goals.
The ABB delegation, led by Massimiliano Cifalitti, President of ABB Smart Power Division, was welcomed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. The meeting emphasized DEWA’s commitment to integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) into its energy infrastructure to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
DEWA reported a 5.49% increase in power generation in the first three quarters of 2024, reaching 45.14 terawatt hours (TWh). The authority continues to invest in clean energy and smart grid technologies to solidify Dubai’s position as a global leader in energy innovation.
ABB reaffirmed its dedication to supporting DEWA’s efforts in developing next-generation power solutions, strengthening their collaboration in shaping Dubai’s smart infrastructure and long-term sustainability.
