Adani Energy Solutions, the power transmission arm of billionaire Gautam Adani’s Adani Group, has secured a ₹28 billion ($325 million) contract for a key power transmission project in Gujarat, India.
The project will support a green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing unit in Mundra and is set to be completed within three years, the company announced in an exchange filing on Friday.
With this latest contract, Adani Energy Solutions’ total order book now stands at ₹575.61 billion ($6.7 billion).
India is targeting the production of 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen per year by 2030, requiring 125 GW of renewable energy. However, the lack of power transmission infrastructure has been a significant hurdle in developing renewable energy projects.
The government aims to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030, up from the current 165 GW, as part of its clean energy push.
