CTP, Europe’s largest listed developer and manager of industrial and logistics properties by gross lettable area (GLA), is investing €57 million in a new high-voltage products factory for Hitachi Energy at CTPark Brno in the Czech Republic. The project, covering 50,000 sqm, aims to achieve a yield on cost (YoC) exceeding 10% and will create approximately 200 jobs.
The facility will manufacture gas-insulated lines (GIL) and components for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), crucial for electricity transmission and distribution. It will feature advanced production technologies, including friction stir welding and a robotized powder coating facility. Designed with energy efficiency in mind, the site will use heat pumps and solar panels, aiming for BREEAM Outstanding certification.
An underground car park will enhance accessibility for employees, while the campus will include offices, residences, and multi-functional CTBox units.
Pavel Kovář, Country Managing Director Hitachi Energy for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, emphasized the project’s role in expanding production capacity for eco-efficient products: “Our factory in Brno is one example of our commitment to rapidly expand our global capacity to meet the accelerating demand generated by the transition to clean energy. This project in CTPark Brno will provide us with ideal background for production of our eco-efficient EconiQ portfolio, which eliminates the use of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), the most potent greenhouse gas, from high-voltage equipment. Our investment of over 1.1 billion CZK will increase production capacity and address the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.”
Michal Dospěl, Regional Construction Director of CTP, highlighted the project's contribution to sustainability and innovation: “We are very pleased to be able to deliver this ambitious project for our long-standing partner Hitachi Energy. This state-of-the-art, high-tech facility being built at CTPark Brno is an example of our commitment to sustainability and innovation. We believe that the project will contribute to the further development of our park and will provide our clients and employees not only with a state-of-the-art working environment, but also support for their growth and development.”
This development continues the strategic partnership between CTP and Hitachi Energy, which began in 2014, further solidifying CTPark Brno as a hub for industrial growth and technological advancement.
