May 21, 2025 – Eaton, a global intelligent power management company, and ChargePoint, a leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at streamlining the deployment of EV charging infrastructure across North America and Europe.
The collaboration will integrate EV chargers, electrical infrastructure, and engineering services into turnkey solutions designed to accelerate transportation electrification. The companies will co-develop technologies that enable bidirectional power flow and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capabilities, allowing EVs to function as backup power sources for buildings and homes.
Paul Ryan, General Manager, Energy Transition at Eaton, described the partnership as a “game-changing” move that simplifies electrification efforts at scale. The joint offerings will help customers optimize power usage, enhance site reliability, and reduce total project costs.
Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint, emphasized that the partnership addresses major barriers to EV adoption and will enable greater integration between vehicles, infrastructure, and the grid via ChargePoint’s cloud software platform.
Targeting fleet, commercial, residential, and public applications, the joint initiative will offer scalable EV infrastructure tailored to diverse charging needs.
