Grenergy has announced a $3.78 billion investment in energy storage as part of its 2025–2027 strategic plan, presented during its Capital Markets Day in London. The plan emphasizes the company’s goal to lead the battery energy storage system (BESS) sector across Chile and Europe.
By 2027, Grenergy aims to reach 4.4 GW of installed solar capacity and 18.8 GWh of battery storage, expanding its hybrid solar-plus-storage model in key markets.
The company’s flagship project, Oasis de Atacama in northern Chile, is expected to achieve 2 GW of solar and 11 GWh of storage, with an investment of approximately $2.16 billion. In central Chile, the Central Oasis platform will deliver 1.1 GW of solar and 3.8 GWh of storage, supported by Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), including a baseload contract with Chilean state miner Codelco.
In Spain, the Escuderos project will combine 200 MW of solar with 704 MWh of battery storage, with construction scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025. The project already holds a 12-year daytime PPA with Galp.
Grenergy has also launched Greenbox, a standalone battery platform targeting 3 GWh in operation and under construction by 2027. The Greenbox pipeline totals 35 GWh across six European countries, with the flagship Oviedo project in Spain expected to reach 600 MWh, and construction set for early 2026.
The company plans to generate around $864 million between 2025 and 2027 through asset rotation, half of which is already secured or in advanced stages. Its energy segment’s projected EBITDA is forecasted to reach between $486 million and $540 million by 2027.
Grenergy is entering a growth phase focused on storage and continuous clean energy management, aiming to replicate its successful solar-plus-storage hybrid model from Chile to Spain and further develop its energy storage platforms across Europe.
