HiiROC, a UK-based hydrogen producer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siemens to scale clean hydrogen production through advanced automation and control technology. This collaboration aims to enhance the efficiency and scalability of HiiROC’s Thermal Plasma Electrolysis (TPE) technology, which is recognized under the UK’s Low Carbon Hydrogen Standard.
HiiROC’s TPE process breaks down hydrocarbons into hydrogen and solid carbon without producing CO₂ emissions, using only 20% of the electricity required by traditional water electrolysis. By leveraging Siemens’ automation expertise, HiiROC intends to make clean hydrogen a more accessible and economically viable fuel for widespread use.
Siemens’ contributions will include advanced factory automation tools, cybersecurity measures, and control solutions designed to ensure safe, efficient scaling of HiiROC’s hydrogen production.
