
Liberty Energy Inc. has announced the acquisition of IMG Energy Solutions, a leading developer of distributed power systems. The acquisition enhances Liberty Power Innovations (LPI) by integrating IMG’s engineering, software, and power marketing expertise, strengthening Liberty’s position in the energy sector.
IMG’s modular power systems are designed for rapid deployment, making them ideal for microgrids and critical infrastructure applications. The company’s cloud-based operations platform allows remote monitoring and control, ensuring high efficiency and reliability.
Ron Gusek, CEO of Liberty Energy, stated that the acquisition advances LPI’s engineering, construction, and power market capabilities. The move positions Liberty to deliver low-emission, capital-efficient energy solutions across various industries.
Since 2011, IMG has provided energy solutions for major projects, including an independent microgrid at Pittsburgh International Airport. In 2023, the company sold six 21 MW power plants to Tenaska, demonstrating its ability to develop high-quality power projects.
