Meta Platforms, Inc. has signed agreements with Sunraycer Renewables LLC to purchase 100% of the environmental attributes from two upcoming solar projects in Texas, totaling 240 MWac of clean energy capacity.
Announced on May 1, 2025, the agreements cover the Midpoint Solar project in Hill County (127 MWdc / 97.5 MWac) and the Gaia Solar project in Navarro County (184 MWdc / 143 MWac). Both projects are expected to begin commercial operation in Q4 2025 and will supply power to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid.
David Lillefloren, CEO of Sunraycer, said the partnership highlights Sunraycer’s commitment to utility-scale clean energy and supports Meta’s sustainability goals. Urvi Parekh, global head of energy at Meta, said the projects will help match Meta’s operations with 100% renewable energy.
These developments are the first from Sunraycer’s 4 GWac pipeline of solar and battery energy storage projects. Through its Accelerant Program, Sunraycer supports smaller developers with flexible capital and operational resources, positioning itself as an alternative to traditional utilities.
