GERMANY – Amprion will bring climate-friendly electricity produced from North Sea wind farms ashore – so much that it can supply a large city like Hamburg.
Amprion GmbH has announced that Norderney is making an important contribution to the success of the energy transition. Amprion began construction work on two new offshore lines on the East Frisian island this summer.
According to Amprion GmbH, they will bring climate-friendly electricity produced from North Sea wind farms ashore – so much that it can supply a large city like Hamburg. For this purpose, they are laying a total of almost 500 kilometers (311 miles) of submarine and underground cables. Like existing grid connections, the DolWin4 and BorWin4 offshore projects will also run under Norderney.
