Nordex Group has secured an order to supply 41 N117/3600 wind turbines for the Miejska Górka wind farm in Poland. With a total capacity of 147.6 MW, this project will be one of the largest wind farms in the country. The turbines will be installed in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship starting at the end of 2025, with the wind farm expected to be operational by early 2027.
The order, which also includes a 30-year premium service contract, was placed by Tauron Zielona Energia S.A., Poland’s second-largest energy company. The project was developed by VSB, an international project developer based in Dresden, Germany.
The wind farm will initially consist of 41 turbines, with plans to expand the project with 12 additional turbines, bringing the total capacity to 190.8 MW. The turbines will be mounted on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 134 meters.
Patxi Landa, Chief Strategy Officer at Nordex Group, stated, "This order demonstrates the suitability of our N117 turbine for the Polish market, and we are excited to contribute to the growth of renewable energy in Poland."
VSB will oversee the infrastructure works, which are scheduled to begin in 2025, and the subsequent expansion of the wind farm. The company has a long-standing presence in Europe’s renewable energy sector and has developed over 1.7 GW of capacity to date.
