NovaSource Power Services has been selected as the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Generator Operator (GO) for the Mammoth Solar Project, one of the largest agrivoltaics initiatives in the United States. Developed by Doral Renewables, the project is located in Pulaski and Starke Counties, Indiana, and will ultimately deliver nearly 1.6GWdc of solar energy.
This multi-phase project merges solar energy generation with agricultural land use, aiming to support sustainable farming practices while supplying clean power. The four phases include Mammoth North (480MWdc), completed in Q4 2024, with three additional phases—Mammoth South, Central I, and Central II—expected to come online in 2026.
Irfan Bharde, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at NovaSource, emphasized the project's innovative integration of farming and energy. “We are proud to collaborate with Doral Renewables on a project that sets new industry benchmarks for scale, sustainability, and innovation,” he said.
With a portfolio of over 30GW in global solar assets, NovaSource will manage grid integration, ensure NERC compliance, and deploy data-driven asset management to optimize performance.
Chris Hinton, Vice President of Asset Management at Doral Renewables, noted that NovaSource was chosen for its community focus and technical expertise.
As the need for reliable, sustainable energy grows, the Mammoth Solar Project is expected to become a blueprint for future large-scale agrivoltaic developments.
