Qualitrol, a Fortive operating company specializing in electrical asset monitoring and diagnostics, has announced the appointment of Bala Vinayagam as its new President. Vinayagam, who previously served as Vice President of the Microgrid Program at Schneider Electric, brings extensive experience in digitization and automation of energy systems. His new role will involve driving the modernization of the global electrical grid through advanced technology. 

Vinaygam expressed excitement about leading Qualitrol in its mission to modernize the electrical grid, highlighting the company’s role in enhancing energy reliability and sustainability.

Founded in 1945, Qualitrol has established itself as a leader in partial discharge monitoring, asset protection equipment, and information products across power generation, transmission, and distribution sectors. The company operates in over 93 countries, providing essential hardware and software solutions to ensure reliable power supply worldwide.

In an interview with Power Systems Technology, Bala Vinayagam emphasized the importance of advancing digitization in the energy sector, highlighting its crucial role in building a more sustainable and resilient future.

With operations in several countries, including Canada, China, India, and the United States, Qualitrol continues to expand its global footprint. The appointment of Vinaygam is expected to further strengthen the company’s position as a trusted provider of energy monitoring and diagnostic solutions.
