SERMATEC, a leader in renewable energy solutions, has launched a cutting-edge 5.1MW/17.8MWh energy storage system designed to enhance solar power efficiency in Bulgaria. This innovative project aims to transform the local energy landscape by addressing the challenges associated with excess solar power generation.
Operators of a photovoltaic plant in the region faced significant difficulties due to overproduction, resulting in wasted electricity during peak sunlight hours and the need to purchase power from the grid at night. The new energy storage system is designed to alleviate this imbalance by storing over 6.5 million kWh annually, enabling operators to avoid negative pricing during excess generation and actively participate in electricity market trading.
Central to this advancement are 48 units of SERMATEC's EasyCube Series 372kWh Energy Storage Systems, known for their spatial efficiency and operational flexibility. Powered by advanced 3.2V 280Ah LFP batteries, the system offers a conversion efficiency of up to 99% and a design life exceeding 15 years. Additionally, the project incorporates SERMATEC's self-developed Energy Management System (EMS), which facilitates the integration of photovoltaic power generation and optimizes energy storage and usage.
With intelligent management and real-time monitoring capabilities through a cloud platform, SERMATEC aims to support Bulgaria’s transition to a green, low-carbon energy future. This project not only addresses solar overgeneration but also underscores SERMATEC's commitment to engineering excellence and sustainable energy solutions.
