Teralight has officially activated Israel’s largest solar project, the Ta’anach 1 photovoltaic (PV) array, located in the Jezreel Valley of northern Israel. With a capacity of 150 MW, the plant is expected to generate 310 GWh of solar energy annually, contributing significantly to Israel’s clean energy goals.
Rani Lifshitz, CEO of Teralight, called the launch of Ta’anach 1 a “significant milestone” for the company, reinforcing its role as a key player in Israel’s green energy sector. "This project advances Israel’s efforts to increase the use of clean, locally produced solar energy," said Lifshitz.
The plant is projected to generate around $16.6 million in revenue annually, with an operating cash flow of $12.7 million. Teralight holds a 51% stake in the project, with the remaining 49% owned by Migdal Group, an Israeli insurance company.
Next year, Teralight plans to expand the project with the Ta’anach 2 installation, a 104 MW facility set to feature 440 MWh of energy storage. This expansion is expected to further strengthen Israel’s renewable energy infrastructure and its commitment to sustainability.
In addition to Ta’anach, Teralight is developing the Maglan project, which will be Israel’s largest green energy initiative upon completion in 2027. The project will feature 340 MW of PV production and 1,110 MWh of storage capacity, though it will be located in the occupied Palestinian territories.
