Budapest, Hungary – Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. has announced an expansion of its popular digital monitoring system, Intelligent Solutions. Originally launched in 2022 for transformers, the technology is now also available for rotating machines, marking the company's first foray into intelligent rotating machine production.
The Intelligent Solutions system was initially developed to monitor various factors such as thermal condition, load, oil quality, and cooling in transformers. The technology rapidly gained traction in both domestic and international markets, leading Ganz to diversify its portfolio.
Ganz has a storied history of manufacturing and servicing rotating equipment for various industries, including power, oil and gas, mining, and water. The company's Intelligent Solutions digital monitoring technology has already proven its worth in the transformer sector, so extending it to rotating machines was a logical next step. Preliminary market research has confirmed a strong demand for a solution that offers continuous digital monitoring of such machinery.
The system's digital unit provides real-time information on critical components, such as the seals and bearings of rotating machines. Such factors are crucial, as component failure can result in serious consequences like equipment downtime and damage. Thanks to Ganz's condition monitoring technology, faults can be detected before they cause major issues, enabling condition-based maintenance. This enhances the security of supply and allows machinery with a lifespan of up to 30-40 years to operate reliably and safely.
In line with this, Ganz aims to become not just a manufacturer, but also a service provider in the heavy machinery market. Their latest intelligent solution for rotating machines establishes them as leaders in the digitalization sector of heavy industry worldwide. The company’s long-term goal is to develop an expert fleet management system that can monitor several units simultaneously and manage entire fleets in a unified system.
Gábor Farkas, Brand Manager of Ganz Intelligent Solutions, noted, “Integration of digitalization enables transformers and rotating machinery to operate more reliably, and data-driven preventive maintenance contributes to cost reduction and longer lifetime.”
Bence Flösser, Head of Engineering of Ganz’s Rotating Machines Division, added, “Through the R&D of intelligent solutions and the expansion of our service portfolio, we have taken another important step towards becoming a strong international brand.”
Founded in 2020, Ganz is now 100% Hungarian-owned and employs over 350 people, making it one of the largest employers in the region. With its intelligent solutions, the company is certainly paving the way for a more secure and sustainable future in heavy industry.
