
Vestas, a prominent player in the sustainable energy sector, has announced a firm order from ENOVA Power GmbH for a significant repowering project in Meppen, located at the western end of Lower Saxony, Germany. The order entails the delivery, supply, and commissioning of nine V172-7.2 MW wind turbines, marking a pivotal step towards enhancing renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
Scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026, the project underscores Vestas' commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions. The turbines will be supported by a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, aimed at ensuring optimal performance throughout their operational lifespan.
Sulai Fahimi, Vestas Vice President Sales Central Europe, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the significance of customer trust in Vestas' latest technologies. Meanwhile, Hauke Bruemmer, CEO of ENOVA Power GmbH, highlighted the project's magnitude as the largest onshore endeavor in the company's 35-year history, signaling a substantial investment in Germany's renewable energy sector.
Turbine delivery is slated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025, with commissioning expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026, marking a significant stride towards a greener, more sustainable future for Germany.
