The Yellow River Wind Farm, a 29-turbine project with a capacity of 101 MW, has reached a key milestone with its successful energisation. This development is a significant step toward the completion of the wind farm, which will contribute to Ireland’s renewable energy targets.
A critical component of the project is the 110/33kV grid transformer, designed and built by Suir Engineering. This advanced transformer plays a pivotal role in integrating the wind farm’s energy into the national grid, ensuring efficient and reliable power delivery.
In addition to the transformer, Suir Engineering delivered the 110kV substation, IPP substation, commissioning works, and 110kV grid cable installation. The incorporation of cutting-edge technology ensures both optimal performance and long-term reliability for the project.
The energisation of the wind farm reflects a successful collaboration between SSE Renewables, Suir Engineering, and other stakeholders, highlighting progress toward Ireland’s renewable energy initiatives.
