INDIA - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide a loan of $132.8 million to enhance power quality and to upgrade the power distribution network in the northeastern state of Meghalaya.
The project will include the construction of 23 new substations, the renovation and modernisation of 45 existing substations and the installation of more than 1,367 miles of distribution lines and associated facilities.
The distribution network upgrade is expected to benefit nearly 180,000 households in the state, reports NS Energy.
