Amperesand, a company specializing in grid infrastructure solutions, has announced the appointment of Gary Lawrence as Chief Executive Officer, Brian Dow as Chief Product Officer, and Tommy Joyner as Chief Technology Officer. The new leadership team brings decades of experience in energy and technology, positioning the company to expand its footprint in the emerging market for solid-state transformer (SST) solutions.
Gary Lawrence, former Global President of the Power and Grid Segment at Schneider Electric, brings extensive expertise in strategic growth and digitalization in the energy sector. He led initiatives that doubled revenue in Schneider Electric’s Power and Grid division in just four years. Brian Dow and Tommy Joyner, both former senior leaders at Tesla, are noted for their contributions to clean energy and manufacturing innovation. Dow led large-scale energy storage projects, while Joyner was instrumental in advancing Tesla’s battery technologies and manufacturing processes.
The company’s recent demonstration of a 6MW SST platform and its plans for additional deployments in 2025, including a pilot project with PSA International at the Port of Singapore, highlight the growing interest in SST technology.
With the new leadership team in place, Amperesand aims to expand its role in the global electrification movement, with a goal to surpass $1 billion in revenue over the next decade. The company’s focus will be on accelerating the adoption of SST solutions to meet the increasing demand for faster, more efficient energy infrastructure.
