Amprion GmbH has signed a landmark three-year framework agreement with PFIFFNER Deutschland GmbH for the supply of approximately 400 high-voltage combined instrument transformers, scheduled for delivery between 2026 and 2028. The deal is the largest single order in the history of the PFIFFNER Group.
The agreement follows a two-year collaborative relationship between the companies, particularly around the development of gas-insulated instrument transformers at Pfiffner’s Itzehoe facility. With this partnership, Pfiffner becomes a strategic supplier to Amprion, one of Germany’s major transmission system operators.
Marcel Rüfenacht, CEO of the Pfiffner Group, highlighted the importance of the contract for the Itzehoe site and acknowledged the long-standing trust established with Amprion.
The partnership plays a vital role in supporting Germany’s energy transition by ensuring stable and sustainable infrastructure. The transformers, Pfiffner types EJGF / EGF, are essential components in high-voltage switchgear, converting high voltages and currents into standardized values for metering and protection systems.
This milestone reflects both a strengthening of regional manufacturing capabilities in Schleswig-Holstein and a broader commitment to secure energy infrastructure in Germany.
