Astor Energy (ASTOR), a Türkiye-based energy company and transformer manufacturer, announced on May 21, 2025, that it signed agreements to acquire three Romanian firms holding solar power projects with a combined capacity of 279 megawatts (MW). The acquisitions were made through Astor RO Energy, a fully owned subsidiary established in Romania earlier in April 2025 to manage the company’s international renewable energy investments.
According to a statement filed with the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Astor RO Energy signed contracts on May 20 to acquire 100% ownership of the three local Romanian companies. These firms operate photovoltaic (solar) projects across Romania, significantly expanding Astor Energy’s renewable portfolio.
The legal and regulatory processes related to the share transfers are still underway.
This move is part of Astor Energy’s broader strategy to grow its presence in international renewable markets, leveraging its new Romanian subsidiary to oversee operations and investments in the region. Alongside its renewable energy ventures, Astor Energy is known for manufacturing transformers, supporting energy infrastructure development.
