Astor Enerji, a prominent Turkish electromechanics company, has entered into a supply agreement with Castiinversiones Renovables SL, a Spanish subsidiary of BP, to manufacture two power transformers for a solar energy initiative in Spain.
The transformers, each boasting a capacity of 125 megavolt amperes (MVA) and specifications of 220/30 kilovolts (kV), will be produced at Astor Energy’s facility in Ankara, Türkiye. The units are slated for delivery by June 2025, with production expected to take approximately eight months.
This collaboration aligns with Spain's increasing renewable energy demands while bolstering Astor Energy’s footprint in the European market. Alisan Tastan, Deputy General Manager of Astor Enerji, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to supplying reliable solutions for renewable power generation and distribution.
“Astor Enerji continues to support European distribution and transmission companies in meeting their energy needs from renewable sources with our transformers and switching products,” Tastan remarked.
The project underlines the importance of international cooperation in advancing renewable energy infrastructure, a key priority for both Türkiye and Spain.
