Azerbaijan has dispatched 17 transformers and more than 52,000 meters of electrical cables to Ukraine as part of ongoing humanitarian aid, according to Alasgar Hasanov, Head of Department at Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry.
Under a decree from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the aid was organized with funds equivalent to one million US dollars, and the shipment was sent on February 7, 2025. This latest delivery brings the total value of reconstruction and humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan to Ukraine to over $40 million.
Since the start of the conflict, Azerbaijan has provided significant support, including 134 transformers, complete transformer stations, 70 generators, and approximately 3.4 million meters of electrical cables and wires. This assistance is aimed at restoring a sustainable power supply to areas heavily affected by the ongoing war.
The aid package responds to requests from Ukrainian authorities seeking to rebuild critical infrastructure.
