Croatian electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar Elektroindustrija [ZSE] announced on Tuesday that its unit, Koncar – Metal Structures, has successfully completed a project for Austrian transformer producer Siemens Transformers Linz, manufacturing a 34-tonne transformer tank for the Canadian power company Hydro Quebec.
High Standards for Challenging Conditions
The delivery marks a significant achievement, given the specific requirements necessitated by Hydro Quebec's location. "The specific location's low temperatures necessitated exceptionally high standards for material quality, weld integrity, and corrosion protection," Koncar stated in its monthly newsletter. This project required meticulous attention to detail, including two trial assemblies and extensive test-fitting of equipment to ensure optimal performance under harsh environmental conditions.
Hydro Quebec, one of North America's largest utility companies, will benefit from the robust construction and high-quality materials of the transformer tank, ensuring reliability and durability in their power distribution network.
Koncar’s shares last traded on Monday on the Zagreb bourse, ending 0.76% lower at 260 euro ($279).
