Koncar Elektroindustrija announced on Tuesday that its subsidiary, Koncar Distributivni i Specijalni Transformatori, in partnership with Danish tech firm Hans Folsgaard, has secured a contract to supply distribution transformers for a grid expansion project in eastern Denmark. The contract is part of a tender launched by grid operators Cerius and Radius, alongside their partner, service company Nexel.
Under the agreement, Koncar D&ST will supply around 400 high-efficiency distribution transformers annually between 2025 and 2029. The transformers will be installed in 10/0.4 kV transformer stations, crucial components in the region's power distribution network. These advanced transformers are designed to minimize power losses and enhance the efficiency of the grid, supporting Denmark's transition to renewable energy.
The project aims to address the growing energy demands from electric vehicles and other electrified systems, requiring significant grid upgrades. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
