Efacec has won two awards in the Product Design category at this year's Red Dot Design Award competition.
The Red Dot Design Award: Product Design dates back to 1955 and recognizes the best products for a given year. The international panel of experts is made up of specialists from a wide variety of sectors. This year, they evaluated the products entered in the competition in a process spanning several days and were guided by evaluation criteria such as formal product quality, ergonomics and longevity.
Efacec’s barrier mechanism for protecting level crossings, and the transformer with Efacec’s modular technology were the products awarded in the Industrial Equipment, Machinery and Automation subcategory.
The barrier solution has already been installed by Efacec in the Swedish railroads and is in use by the Swedish Railway Infrastructure.
For Ângelo Ramalho, Chairman and CEO of Efacec, “an achievement that leaves us very honored and certain that we are on the right track. These awards are the recognition of the talent of a vast team that worked hard on the two products, creating solutions that will mark the history of Efacec”.
“These awards are the recognition of the company’s strategic bet on design combined with technological innovation through the launch of products that are born from the expertise and talent of the Efacec team,” said Sandra Pombo, Brand and Communication Director and Corporate Affairs Officer at Efacec. “With over 70 years of history and permanent focus on innovation, this is the first time that Efacec applies for the Red Dot Design Award, winning two awards immediately.”
“The winners of the Red Dot Design Award: Product Design 2021 were particularly impressive this year. The design of their products is excellent, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. It is not easy to prevail in such a strong field of competitors and win over our jury. Consequently, I want to congratulate the winners most sincerely on their success,” said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Design Award.
