Starting on March 24th, 2024, the initiative spans across all Twenty One Districts in the region, showcasing the company's commitment to maintaining stable power supply.
Officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have been diligently visiting various transformers as part of the inspection exercise. Communities such as Bibiani, Obuasi, and Ejisu, along with key locations like Adum's Central Market and the Ashanti Regional Police Command, have been among the sites scrutinized.
During these inspections, the integrity of transformers has been thoroughly assessed, and load readings have been recorded for each unit. Additionally, ECG officials have engaged with customers, emphasizing the importance of promptly reporting any suspicious activities around ECG installations like transformers and pylons to ensure safety and security.
In a statement to GBC News in Kumasi, Ing. Collins Manu, the Public Relations Officer for Ashanti Sub Transmission, highlighted the ongoing nature of the exercise and appealed for customers' cooperation. He stressed the significance of avoiding illegal connections and urged prompt bill payment to sustain the electricity supply chain effectively.
