The Slovenian power grid operator Eles signed a memorandum of understanding with Siemens Energy, a prominent German energy company, on Monday, establishing a strategic partnership to develop digital and sustainable solutions for the international energy market.
The collaboration will focus on creating augmented reality and virtual reality solutions, developing robots for inspecting transformer stations, and generating digital twins of high-voltage transmission lines and transformer stations.
Eles director Aleksander Mervar stated that the company is recognized as one of the most advanced grid operators. Siemens Energy selected Eles as a partner due to its well-established diagnostics and analytical center.
With over a decade of experience in digitalization, Eles aims to elevate its grid management capabilities further. Adnan Chaudhry, a senior vice president for the digital grid at Siemens Energy, emphasized the partnership as a major milestone, highlighting the shared vision of progress and innovation between the two companies.
"Together, we can ensure that the energy transition is not just fast but also safe and sustainable," he said.
