
GE Vernova T&D India Limited, the listed entity of GE Vernova’s Electrification business, has secured a significant order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) to supply over 70 units of 765 kV class transformers and shunt reactors. The equipment will support renewable energy transmission corridors across India under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework.
The order includes the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the high-voltage equipment, which will be manufactured at GE Vernova’s Vadodara facility. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 and continue through 2027.
Ruchir Mayank, Commercial Leader of GE Vernova’s Power Transmission business in India, called the project a major milestone for the Vadodara plant and a reflection of growing trust in the company’s execution capabilities.
Sandeep Zanzaria, Managing Director and CEO of GE Vernova T&D India Limited, emphasized the company’s role in advancing India’s transmission infrastructure to accommodate large-scale renewable energy.
The equipment will strengthen high-capacity renewable corridors in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, aiding grid modernization and enhancing energy security.
