Partners Group has acquired an undisclosed stake on the behalf of its clients in the Greenlink interconnector project, a proposed 500 MW HVDC interconnector that will link the Irish and the UK power markets.
The Greenlink interconnector project will be laid nearly 200 km underground and under the sea between County Wexford in Ireland and Pembrokeshire in Wales, reports Compelo.
A financial close and the start of construction of the $452 million interconnector project are expected to be achieved in the second half of 2020.
The project is slated to be commissioned in 2023 following construction of about three years.
Subsea surveys for the interconnector project commenced last summer while procurement for the major construction contracts is in progress as of now.
