GERMANY - The system enables targeted control of the load flow.
According to Tennet, the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Germany, Ronald Van Roeden, and the Dutch Honorary Consul in Schleswig-Holstein ,Rainer Kibbel, visited two important projects of the energy transition with Tim Meyerjürgens, Member of the Executive Board at Tennet.
The first one is NordLink, which serves as a "green cable" for the exchange of German wind energy with Norwegian hydropower.
The second is the construction site of a phase-shifting transformer as part of the Westküstenleitung. The system enables targeted control of the load flow and thus optimized distribution of the electricity fed in and better utilization of the existing 380kV grid, without having to build new power lines.
