H2scan, a leader in hydrogen sensor technology, has announced a major expansion of its GRIDSCAN® sensor portfolio, introducing the GRIDSCAN 5010, 5015, and 5000 HP. These advanced sensors enhance transformer monitoring by offering increased accuracy, a wider measurement range, and improved resilience in harsh environments.
Aging transformers face rising electrical and environmental stress, making continuous monitoring essential for reliability. Traditional methods, such as periodic sampling, can leave gaps that lead to costly failures. The new GRIDSCAN models address these challenges by providing 24/7 hydrogen monitoring, detecting early signs of transformer deterioration, and reducing unplanned outages.
The GRIDSCAN 5010 features perpetual auto-calibration, ensuring real-time detection of sudden hydrogen fluctuations. The GRIDSCAN 5015 is designed for transformers with high hydrogen concentrations, commonly found in renewable energy facilities. Meanwhile, the GRIDSCAN 5000 HP offers twice the accuracy of its predecessor, making it ideal for sensitive applications.
All new models feature IP68 ingress protection, high EMI/RFI resistance, and 10+ years of maintenance-free operation. They also support Modbus and 4-20mA outputs, allowing seamless integration with existing systems.
The GRIDSCAN sensors are applicable across industries, including utilities, data centers, alternative energy installations, offshore platforms, and transportation systems. They also complement H2scan’s HY-VAULT™ system, designed for underground vault transformers in urban areas.
