The Business Council of Alabama (BCA) and the Alabama Technology Network (ATN) announced the 2024 Manufacturer of the Year (MOTY) award winners during their 25th annual ceremony in Montgomery. The event recognized outstanding achievements in the state’s manufacturing sector.
The awards, which celebrate excellence in leadership, performance, and community impact, are given to companies setting benchmarks in innovation, quality, and workforce relations. An independent panel selected the winners based on several criteria, including customer focus, operational excellence, and investment in workforce training.
HD Hyundai Power Transformers USA, based in Montgomery, won the 2024 Large Manufacturer of the Year award. The company produces power transformers and related equipment for the North American electrical infrastructure. In accepting the award, Kyungbum Nam, CFO of HPT USA, praised the company's 450 employees and highlighted their commitment to innovation and quality. He emphasized their contribution to the local community since their establishment in 2011.
Other nominees from Montgomery included Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. and MRaine Industries LLC, representing the large and small categories, respectively. Anna Buckalew, President and CEO of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, commended the city’s manufacturing community for its role in driving economic growth.
