Hitachi Energy, a global leader in sustainable energy technology, and Samsung C&T Corporation Engineering & Construction Group have expanded their strategic partnership to advance high-voltage direct current (HVDC) projects globally. The collaboration will focus on key regions including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South Korea.
This non-exclusive agreement leverages the growing demand for electrification and clean energy solutions. Hitachi Energy will provide its advanced HVDC technology, while Samsung C&T contributes its engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) expertise. Together, they aim to meet rising energy demands with innovative and efficient power infrastructure.
The partnership builds on the companies' successful delivery of two HVDC links supplying 3,200 megawatts of power to ADNOC’s offshore operations in the UAE. By combining their strengths, the companies aim to drive the energy transition and support sustainable development worldwide.
Niklas Persson, Managing Director of Hitachi Energy's Business Unit Grid Integration, highlighted the importance of partnerships in accelerating the pace of change in global energy systems. Sung-Jun Kim, Executive Vice President at Samsung C&T, emphasized the potential for innovation and growth through this collaboration.
