This move comes as Claudio Facchin, the current CEO of Hitachi Energy, prepares to step down at the end of June 2024. Schierenbeck brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having co-founded and served on the board of HH2E, a green-hydrogen production company. Prior to this, he served as the CEO of Uniper, where he spearheaded the company's decarbonization strategy, and as the CEO of thyssenkrupp Elevator, where he led a successful transformation leveraging digital technology. With over two decades of experience at Siemens, including key leadership roles in the US and Switzerland, Schierenbeck is well-equipped to lead Hitachi Energy into its next phase of growth.
