Ormazabal has announced its pivotal role in a specialized project for Iberdrola: the creation of a mobile substation tailored for emergency scenarios. Commissioned by IDE, an entity within the Iberdrola Group, Ormazabal was entrusted with designing, constructing, and delivering this crucial component of electrical distribution infrastructure.
The mobile substations developed by Ormazabal facilitate swift restoration of electrical supply in case of technical incidents or unforeseen grid disruptions. These units, characterized by their complexity and uniqueness, demand advanced engineering expertise and customization. Ormazabal, recognized as a leader in tailored solutions for the electrical grid, applied its extensive knowledge and experience to this project.
Key features of the solution include Ormazabal cpg.0 primary distribution switchgears with a 24 kV / 1600 A / 25 kA busbar, alongside protection and control equipment. Additionally, it incorporates a 12.5 MVA 45 / 20-15-13.2 kV ODAF transformer, mounted on a semi-trailer equipped with three hydraulic directional axles for enhanced maneuverability. The design places the medium voltage switchgear room and automation equipment at the front, with the transformer situated at the rear of the semi-trailer.
