INDIA – Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), the country’s largest energy supplier, has approved the laminated pressboard developed by Röchling Industrial for the construction of oil-filled high-voltage transformers.
In a digital audit held in Haren, Germany PGCIL checked Röchling Industrial’s production process as well as the processes for manufacturing the Trafoboard® HD-PH laminated pressboard. With the successful approval, transformer manufacturers in India are now allowed to use Trafoboard® HD-PH as an insulation construction element for oil-filled high-voltage transformers, the manufacturer said in a press release.
The Röchling Industrial location in Vadodara, India, was also successfully audited in a follow-up audit and approved for the manufacturing of components for the laminated pressboard. Röchling Engineering Plastics (India) can now process the pressboard on site for transformers with a voltage class of up to 765 kV.
“We are very proud to have passed the demanding PGCIL audit,” said Manoj Kumar, Managing Director of Röchling Engineering Plastics (India.) “With this approval, we are the only supplier of laminated pressboard with phenolic resin bonding in India.”
