Integrated Power Services (IPS), a leading provider of electromechanical and power distribution systems, announced the acquisition of B&B Transformer, a remanufacturer of oil-filled, distribution class transformers based in Farmington, MN. The deal, finalized on August 13, 2024, aims to bolster IPS's power management offerings, extending its reach across industrial, commercial, utility, and renewable energy sectors.
According to Shannon Moses, IPS Executive Vice-President for Power Management, “This strategic acquisition enhances our ability to deliver comprehensive solutions to a diverse range of industries." B&B Transformer, known for its expertise in single- and three-phase transformer repair and custom-engineered designs, will now integrate into IPS's expansive network, offering enriched services to a combined customer base.
Founded in the 1970s, B&B Transformer has long specialized in oil-filled, distribution class transformers and adheres to the latest Department of Energy efficiency standards. Tim Grundler, Area General Manager for B&B Transformer, expressed excitement about joining IPS, noting that the acquisition would allow for an expanded range of offerings to their customers.
This acquisition strengthens IPS's position as a single-source supplier for power management, promising reliability and innovation in addressing complex industry challenges.
