JST Power Equipment has inaugurated a new transformer manufacturing facility in Port Klang, Malaysia, expanding its global production capacity. The plant will manufacture pad-mounted power distribution transformers ranging from 25 kVA to 6000 kVA, designed for voltages up to 35 kV. Initial production is targeted at 700 units for 2025, increasing to 3500 units in 2026

Matt Polk, Executive Vice President and General Manager of JST Power Equipment, emphasized the strategic importance of the new facility for the company’s growth and enhanced service capabilities. The Malaysia site is the ninth manufacturing location in the company’s network and will eventually include production of dry-type VPI transformers.
