ZAGREB, CROATIA AND SOLNA, SWEDEN — The extensive restoration project of the substation is scheduled to be performed in 11 phases.
Končar has announced that they have signed the inaugural contract for the Swedish distribution system operator Vattenfall Eldistribution AB In late September. The contract is worth €8.4 million and inolves a very complex reconstruction of the 130 kV substation TS 220/130/70/20 kV Finnslatten in Västerås, near the Swedish capital of Stockholm. The reconstruction project will be performed in 11 distinct phases, including the preparation of the documentation and designs, supply and replacement of primary and secondary equipment, auxiliary systems, the construction of a new control centre, as well as necessary construction works and functional tests, commissioning and maintenance during the warranty period. The contract also includes the procurement and laying 4 km (2.85 miles) of 145kV cables and other equipment for the purpose of connecting a priority customer to the substation.
While they will be partnering up with a local subcontractor for the construction works, KET will otherwise fully rely on their in-house experts for project management, design, and system engineers for secondary systems and electrical installations.
The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-2023.
