M&I Materials has introduced a product to the transformer fluid industry with the launch of "MIDEL Regen."
This innovative fluid is the world's first regenerated ester transformer fluid, created from used synthetic ester reclaimed from end-of-life transformers. MIDEL Regen retains the benefits of synthetic ester, such as biodegradability and a high fire point, while promoting sustainability by repurposing materials that would otherwise be discarded.
The regeneration process of MIDEL 7131 synthetic ester into MIDEL Regen could help transformer owners and operators avoid the disposal or incineration of end-of-use fluid. This environmentally friendly approach not only extends the lifespan of transformers but also reduces waste and environmental impact. MIDEL Regen meets the electrical and chemical performance parameters set by the IEC 61099 standard for new synthetic ester transformer fluids.
The new fluid offers superior fire safety, biodegradability, and the option to operate transformers at higher temperatures, all while contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
