Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MP TRANSCO) has taken a significant step to strengthen its transmission capacity by installing an additional 160 MVA power transformer at the 220 KV substation in Ganjbasoda, Vidisha district.
This move, aimed at improving the reliability of transmission, was lauded by Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar. The newly energized power transformer has increased the substation's capacity to 320 MVA, up from its previous 160 MVA capacity. This enhancement was achieved through remote technology from the Bhopal SCADA Control Center, demonstrating a synergy between human operators and computer systems.
Minister Tomar highlighted that the upgraded capacity will benefit multiple substations, including 132 KV Shahrwasa, Bareth, and Gyarspur, while also ensuring higher-quality power supply to various regions. He expressed appreciation for MP TRANSCO's successful efforts and congratulated the team for their achievement. The addition of this transformer has propelled MP TRANSCO's total installed transformation capacity to an impressive 78,165 MVA. The company manages a network of 414 EHV substations across Madhya Pradesh, encompassing 400 K.V., 220 KV, and 132 KV sides, collectively contributing to a robust energy transmission infrastructure.
