
Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, a global leader in energy technology, has announced a new partnership with Federal Electric – Smart Electrification & Automation to revolutionize the digital transformation of power transformers. This marks MR's first collaboration with an OEM in the Middle East and highlights the growing demand for intelligent transformers.
The partnership was officially kicked off in November 2024 with the signing of a cooperation agreement. In February 2025, a four-day workshop was held to develop joint strategies, including tailored equipment packages and end-to-end process optimization.
Looking ahead, the next steps include launching FEDERAL SMART for Distribution Transformers and FEDERAL SMART PLUS for Power Transformers, featuring an advanced sensor portfolio at the Middle East Electricity exhibition. This expansion of Federal Electric's service expertise is set to shape the future of the power sector.
Oktay Akkas, MR's Strategic Business Development Manager, emphasized on the new collaboration: "This is one further step towards digitalization and smart power transformers. Federal Electric's new solutions called Federal SMART & Federal SMART Plus which are digitalized by ISM® are now also available directly in the Middle East region with every Federal Electric power transformer - From the region into the region!"
