
Integrated Power Services (IPS), a leading provider of electrical and mechanical services, has expanded its footprint in Canada with the acquisition of MDL Énergie. The deal, finalized on October 16, 2024, will bolster IPS's capabilities in low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical products and services.
Founded in 2005, MDL Énergie is headquartered in Terrebonne, Québec, and specializes in inspection, maintenance, commissioning, repair, and modernization of power control and protection solutions. With additional locations in Québec City and Sherbrooke, MDL Énergie will enhance IPS's regional presence and technical offerings throughout Canada.
Shannon Moses, Executive Vice President of IPS Power Management Division, emphasized the value of combining both companies' expertise to deliver more robust power management and electromechanical solutions. This acquisition follows IPS's recent purchases of DUAL-Électrotech and Surplec, further solidifying its presence in the Canadian market.
Alexandre Dauphinais, MDL Énergie Area General Manager, expressed excitement over the growth potential and the opportunities for both companies' customers. IPS now operates 91 locations globally, with 56 full-service electromechanical centers and 16 power management sites across North America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
