MP Transco, the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company, has enhanced its transformation capacity in Jabalpur district by energizing the Manaskara substation with a new power transformer of 63 MVA capacity.
This development will benefit around 80,000 agricultural and domestic electricity consumers in the Sihora area, as well as industrial units in Hargarh, Angaria, and Parakheda. The installation of the power transformer ensures reliable and high-quality power supply at the appropriate voltage for these consumers.
Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar commended the efforts of MP Transco personnel in energizing this crucial transformer, recognizing its significance for the power consumers in the area. The capacity expansion of the substation enables the supply of electricity to various villages and consumers in the Angaria and Sihora regions. The power is now provided to these areas at proper voltage and with improved quality.
The Chief Engineer of MP Transco, Atul Joshi, highlighted that the Manaskara substation supplies power to 17 33 KV substations through nine feeders. With the addition of the new 63 MVA transformer, the transformation capacity of the Manaskara substation has reached 126 MVA. In Jabalpur district, MP Transco operates four 220 KV substations and nine 132 KV substations, contributing to a total transformation capacity of 1994.5 MVA in the district. This capacity enhancement marks a significant step towards meeting the electricity demands of the region and ensuring a reliable power supply.
