Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt's Minister of Housing, Utilities, and New Urban Communities, announced the activation of the New October Transformer Station in New October City. The new facility, with a capacity of 220/22/22 KV and a total current capacity of 375 MVA, is designed to support the country's growing infrastructure and urban development needs.
This new station, which comes with an investment of approximately EGP 1 billion (USD 19,6 million), will power residential projects, industrial zones, and various land plots. It is part of the ongoing efforts by the ministry to enhance services in new urban areas and attract investments to the region.
Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud, Head of the New October City Authority, emphasized the station’s role in providing electricity to housing projects in the West Airport area under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians.” Additionally, the transformer station will support the city’s industrial and logistical sectors, aligning with Egypt’s vision to foster industrial production and offer high-quality services to its citizens.
The station’s completion is a significant step toward improving infrastructure and meeting the growing demand for electricity in these expanding urban areas.
