The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has energized a 250 MVA autotransformer at the 220 kV WAPDA Town Grid Station in Lahore. This upgrade replaces the existing 160 MVA autotransformer as part of the World Bank-funded National Transmission Modernization Project (NTMP-1).
The enhanced capacity improves the grid’s power transmission, ensuring a more reliable electricity supply for domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers in Lahore and nearby areas. The upgrade, completed ahead of schedule, aims to reduce transmission constraints and enhance service stability for Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) customers.
Managing Director Engr. Muhammad Waseem Younas commended the Project Delivery (North) Lahore team for their timely work and dedication.
