SCOTLAND - The completed substation will play a key role in the energy transition to net zero emissions.
According to Omexom, in June 2021, Omexom UK and ROI has won an EPC contract with SSE Renewables for a new 400kV GIS substation in Kintore, Scotland. Now they are sharing the progress of the project.
According to the company, the project is part of the client's plans to upgrade its network in the east of Scotland from 275 kV to 400 kV and to facilitate increased renewable energy generation in the region. Omexom teams in Scotland are involved in each step of this project including the design, civil engineering work, the installation of the GIS switchgear, the world's first 400 kV green gas substation, to its commissioning, planned for 2026.
