YORKSHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM – The 1,218 MW Hornsea One wind farm, world’s largest offshore wind farm to go online, has become fully operational and is expected to have official inauguration soon.
The electrical equipment for the onshore and the two offshore substations has been supplied by ABB, including high voltage gas-insulated switchgear, power transformers, reactors and harmonic filters.
Hornsea Two is currently under construction and will be located approximately 55.3 miles off the Yorkshire coast in the North Sea, adjacent to Hornsea One.
It will have a capacity of 1.4 GW and provide power to over 1.3 million homes.
